in her own little black world
tainted by a dove's feather
haunted by the woods
so far away from the rest of the world
a chiffon blue dress tattered between
skinned knees upon the grass plains of Texas
stars twinkling in their array
silvery and metallic,
the sounds escaping the universe
reaching for a far away galaxy
she cried for years
memorizing the creases in silk
painted on the backs of knees
far away from the rest of us
forgotten what was present
she hurried away
forbidden to taste the rest of us
Author notes
I chose my favourite song by her, Black Dove (January).

Ooh, very beautiful choice for sure

Your poem was great. Lovely imagery and wording that didn't hurt my head
It was simple enough for many to understand but intricate enough to make it beautiful. Thank you for entering, and good luck
