It doesn't do
to vent your rage,
for then you're blamed
for the words of war you wage.
Yet those who squash
your righteous words,
are those who'll not
let your voice be heard.
For in god's name
they hunt and kill
and in his name
much blood is spilled.
Dare to question
actions in his name,
you'll be deleted
from the game.
You must stay calm
as you view the pain,
but deep inside
you feel the shame.
The burden
is too much to bear,
for they really only
pretend to care.
Like the crusades,
the killing fields,
god's name became
the righteous shield.
But don't be fooled
they'll take your thoughts
turn them to ashes
and you're left distraught.
Maybe it's time
to leave this place,
for I can't bear
this world's disgrace.

Firstly I would like to say excellent rhyme and flow. You've done a brilliant job. I think the poem relates to the song very well. It's a very thoughtful piece. Thanks for correcting me on the lyrics, I knew it wasn't 'run it on' but I copied them from a site as I was too lazy to type them or change them.
