Oh! I lay waiting, waiting still
Beneath our little meeting hill.
And I will lay and wait until
You come to meet me once again.
I've watched the seasons come and pass.
Our hill has seen both snow and grass
And will see more until Alas!
You come to meet me once again.
I've tried to bid the birds to bring
My words to you on loving wings,
But they don't bring me anything.
Please come to meet me once again.
I can't remember why I died
I only know I cried and cried
And that I was to be your bride.
But you did not come back again...
Oh! I lay waiting, waiting still
Beneath our little meeting hill.
And I will lay and wait until
You come to meet me once again.

Outstanding
Unrequited love - this poem is full of sadness and I liked the imagery and the repetition. You can't help but feel sorry for her, waiting for her lover to appear and left lonely and unhappy. A fantastic poem - Best of luck in the contest.

First off I have to say that I like your backround and secondly if the person whose contest you entered doesnt crown you as the winner they are out of there mind. This is an amazing poem and I love the rhyme and the one line that repeats. You did a great job keep penning
