It’s like a bad line from a bad movie
It’s like a sad song from an old picture show
Believe me friend, this is no time
To be saying, “I told you so.”
Yes, he kissed the horse,
As he waved good-bye,
Rode into the sunset,
Galloping towards the sky.
Sailed across the ocean
To fight the brave fight,
Leaving me here at the station
Crying in the night,
Like all the bad endings
All rolled into one,
Every way to say it’s over,
Anyway it can be done.
I’ve seen them all
I believe I should know
One farewell kiss
Before he had to go.
All the venues, drama
Mystery, comedy,
Anyway you can say it,
He said it to me.
Just like a bad line from a bad movie,
Sad song from an old picture show,
No! This is not a good time,
To be sayin’, "I told you so."

I like the way you show the pain of the loss vicariously through movies and their conventions. Very nice.

Have you ever wondered who it was wrote these scripts? As ever, you have dealt with hurt with a unique poem. Very good write.

He kissed the horse? I must have missed something unless we are into animalism, which I doubt? For the rest I liked this and its link to old and bad movies (not enough of them on terrestrial TV LOL.)

You sound pissed!
Darn, girl, I'm keeping my mouth closed
Nicely done, however... and a feeling that's universal!
