Reanimated

Missing image

Hell's succor,

a scalpel shaped like cross,

severs reason's cerebral cortex,

cadaverous spirit

entombed in pews.

Conscience's formaldehyde

served for communion

causing logic's rigor mortis.

Sermonizing Dr. Frankensteins

reanimate thought's corpse,

sutures of prevarication

give life to monsters of extremism.

Oooh, very nice and very dark. A well articulated piece to go along well with the prompt. Thanks so much for your entry!

the metaphor scapel shaped like a cross was excellent... but so was the rest of the poetic pieces here... dark and scary. I miss writing about those kinds of things, but then again maybe I never did it right so I gave up. I like this write a lot. Hopefully it will inspire me with the darkeness you've written.

    Blessed be
