What Do You Remember?

Do you think about her?
Do you remember what she looked like?

How about her smile?
The one she had when everything was okay in her life.
Do you remember it?

And her features,
mainly her height.
Do you remember how tall she was?

Do you think about her eyes?
Her hair?
The way she would always love to do something dangerous?

Or do you,
honestly,
mainly remember her death?

The way she stopped telling her friends things;
how she couldn't trust you,
her best friend,
anymore?

Do you think about the way she lied,
and told you everything with her was fine?

How about how you let her get away,
away with those lies?

Do you think about how she would have new cuts everyday?
And how she would hide them from everyone but you?

When she called you, but you couldn't talk,
so she said bye?

Did you know that was the last time you would talk to her?

Were you surprised when she was found,
her wrists slit, her skin pearl white,
in the shower?

Would you have helped her through it,
had she begged?
Or would it have had the same turn out?

Do you remember her open casket,
where she looked like something out of a horror movie,
only to you,
because you knew you could have stopped it?

Was it hard for you?
To just say "bye",
and have it be for the last time?

Guess what?

I am glad I could do that to you.
"Bye!"

this peom i can relate to in quite a few ways this poem is quite sad and quite twisted i loved it every word great work and good luck in my contest -bows- once more great work (*)

  • hey great job,

    good luck
    Love,
    Mouse
  • Wow, I've always kind of thought about this kind of thing. I've always wondered how someone could deal with the fact that they let someone go downhill so far that they eventually killed themselves. I like to think that they would get what they deserve eventually. And I have to add that I love how you added the "Bye!" at the end. It gave your poem the closure that it needed.

  • Wow, I honestly dont know what to say. That is amazing. It was beautifully presented and the title really grabbed me.

"Do you remember her open casket,
where she looked like something out of a horror movie,
    only to you,
because you knew you could have stopped it?"

My favourite verse, it's amazing. Well done!!

  • this was amazingly described. its really depressing how no one cared enough to do anything, and it was so intense i loved it

  • this is atear jerker and i love it. it has that same darkness that alot of my work does.i need to put more work up so you can see it.

This is a really good poem. it touches deep down where it hurts, what you try to hide. What comes out in small cries desperate to find a way out. that's just what I think. it was really good though...
i really loved reading it cause something like that happened to me. Anyway, great job, I loved it...
