Your love isn’t pure but corrupted
Polluted with dishonesty and lies
Much like the world around us
The earth, like your love will soon die.
I never understood why you had to be so rough
But now I get it,
You never loved me.
Much like walking on pins and needles
Barefooted I started to bleed
You’re stronger than you think.
Every touch hurts more than the last,
& I wish your stone hands would soften
But I guess that’s just wishful thinking.
Until I say goodbye,
barefooted I’ll to try to survive
Your twisted mind corrupts me,
& I start to spiral downwards.
Stuck in your hypocrisy
I view the world through your eyes.
Never reaching the end,
The spiral doesn’t stop spinning.
& once again it starts from the beginning,
all the lies and treachery.
But not for long, cause soon I’ll escape,
from the center of your world.
You tell me I’m your sunshine
You tell me I’m your world
But I know all I’m doing is fading away,
behind the clouds.
Simultaneously, our hearts beat
Drumming in unison we sway together
But as we fade the beat falters
The drum is no longer strong
Apart we weaken.
Then my heartbeat gets stronger
Alone I stand tall
The drumming starts again
And this time I move to my own beat
Stronger than ever before.
By the way I’d like you to know
you’re no longer my world.
You no longer send shivers down my spine.
your voice, your eyes
will never again push me
into this delirious state.
I am free from you.

I love the ending, and how strong it is. Love tends to end in a downward spiral, and I'm sure we all know how hard it is to break away from it, but your poem ended it off so beautifully!

Wow. Wow. Wow.
Pretty much in AWE right now. This poem spoke everything. Love, lust, anger, heartbreak, etc. It held so much meaning to it that just poured from every line. What an incredible piece.
