Evergreen

question my significance,
as time walks by,
I stay here,
amongst the shelter,
the crimson leaves,
and crystal tears,
never once forgotten,
yet somehow banished,
cold as the winter morning.

Author notes

there is this evergreen that sits near the road down my street. A lot of people for some reason are afraid of it, I guess cause it's really old and somewhat decrepit looking, but i have always thought it was so beautiful.

Is the poem written from the tree's voice?
just wanted to make sure I understand it properly

yes. i guess it would be. I just write it, i let the reader choose the perspective. some people like to think they mimic the tree, ithers like to be the tree. I leave it general yet specific, so they can relate to the poem based on how they feel at the moment.
