Sunshine streams through leaves of brilliant greens
Jade and emerald jewels flung dancing
soft against a fragrant breeze.
With summer on the horizon, carrying gifts of gold and silver,
light and shadow fish for diamonds at water's edge,
Spring presents a fresh bouquet.
Gardens are bursting nosegays,
handtied angel's silks and satins,
petals velvet grained or upturned cups of darling's dew
a grassy table set for June supper and symphony
all chaos of tangled stems and thirsting roots
await the solstice crash of seasons.
