I Missed My Best Friends Birthday

I missed my best friends birthday
I really hope it was okay
The day has just been and gone
and I have known her for so long

It's not like our friendship has just begun
We've been friends for years THIRTY ONE!!
In fact I don't remember any time
when she hasn't been a friend of mine

My life has just gone really crazy
each day is vague, the memory hazy
Do you think life was meant to be like this
so busy, friends birthdays you miss

She really didn't seem to mind
She wasn't just trying to be kind
She's missed heaps of mine in the past you know
And that didn't fill me full of woe

I love the friendship that we've got
Forgetting birthday's matters not
We've always been there fore each other
In one major crisis or another

But I've always thought of her on the day
But not on Monday, no.. no way
I can't have been awake I reckon
I didn't even think of her for a second

We talked tonight and made a date
to just sit and spend some time as mates
I can't wait to see her there's no doubt
that's what friendships all about
