Stardeeps

The moon is bright in the heavens,
Like a glittering silver coin,
The stars are singing, a twinkling choir
My baby, now come let us join

In this wonderful heavenly music:
We'll rock on an ocean of sleep
The boat is waiting, come let's go aboard
To sail on the ocean deep.

The fish that swim in this seascape,
Are friendly as fishes can be
They'll nibble your fingers, and brush past your toes
Will you drift on the stardeeps with me?

I'll braid up your hair into rivers of gold,
I'll dress you in shimmering silk
The cats that walk by in the sweet scented sky
Will dance on an ocean of milk.

They'll purr with the sound of moonbeams
Your dreams will be filled with the tune
Oh, lay down your head, with the clouds for a bed,
And the night will be over, so soon.

I really love the concept of Stardeeps and the metre of this piece, as well as its fancy. Fishes and kitties on an ocean of milk make for a playful lullaby that toddlers would enjoy hearing any time of day!

Does this have music to croon? It's sweet as fairie dust for a little one, and as magical as any lullabye I've ever read.

I wish I could set it to music. But sometimes it's better to let the celestial spheres do the singing. Best Wishes.

A lovely and lyrical lullaby ( how's that for alliteration?) I enjoyed reading this--it really flows well.
