To feel the fresh release of air on skin
For the caress of a single rain drop
There is a person hidden just within
The eyes reveal me, that no one can stop.
The woman inside, so hidden from view
Yet my heart and soul still touch open sky.
I can run with stars, sail on seas of blue
My mind lives free through the blink of my eye.
I ask for no pity, I do not weep
For me, but the lives lost in a war’s name.
The memory of my love I will keep
No regrets, a heart beats on never tame.

It's just a beautiful as I remember
... and I have a weakness for form and rhyme so this is a perfect entry and just what I was hoping for... Well done!

Very good! Excellent rhyme and rhythm. And you went beyond the obvious, placing the woman in context (i.e. burka). Nice job!
