Often the children are so aware,
little secrets they often share .
If you are one of those friends save them today,
be the best friend and take the pain away.
Never keep a secret when your friends are harmed,
ring it out to the teachers and at home set off the alarm.
Bring peace for your friend for she is too afraid,
for the threats she has heard all along the way.
For their little whispers are a cry for help,
they say don't tell anyone keep it between you and myself.
Let not a day pass that you don't see her free,
for the little girl, most never hear her scream .
As you sleep all snug in your bed,
are her whispers of the secret going through your head .
You worry and can't wait till the next day,
and listen to what happened once again harm once more she displayed.
Dark bruises and sometimes burns,
what will it take for you to show concern.
To stop the abuse and save her she depends on you,
that's why she whispers her secrets but what do you do.
Talk to your parents tell the head nurse,
talk to the police and stop the hurt.
Keep a close eye on her and watch her each day,
and you will see her laughter come back to play.
Author notes
Be there to see her free and together your friendship will forever be best of friends

how true you words are we must encourage children to speak out if they are being abused and not let it stay silent for years it took me 35 years to speak out about my abuse because fear gets the better of you and you can sometimes feel so traped in the silence but fear is just a word that we all can overpower with love and encouragement as talking and writing are the two most powerful tools in the world I loved your encouragement all the way through your poem especialy the last stanza
Talk to your parents tell the head nurse,
talk to the police and stop the hurt.
Keep a close eye on her and watch her each day,
and you will see her laughter come back to play.
a wonderful poem my friend thank you for entering the contest and good luck in the contest
