Knowledge is a powerful force
we humans are cursed with possessing
yet we do not really deserve it
because rather than share it
we selfishly keep our knowledge to ourselves
Sure, we have lots of excuses which
societal constraints deem necessary
yet for the few of us who are daring enough
to see the truth,
we recognize these statements for what they really are
"I shouldn't do this; I'm not qualified"
'Someone better will come along
so I don't have to doubt myself'
"Ask someone else instead"
'The subject is taboo
and I don't want the responsibility
of talking about it'
"I can't right now"
'I won't ever'
"No"
'I'm scared to try'
"I don't know"
'I'm to lazy to think too hard'
"Look it up yourself"
'Don't bother me'
Is it difficult to imagine
that with all the prepossessed knowledge
and ability to learn
only a small portion of people
share their knowledge?
Oh, to be a teacher!
To have society accept the
transfer of knowledge
and, more importantly, wisdom
onto other people
to be "trained" in that art
surely they are the only people
living to their full potential
as all others who fail to share
the fruits of their life and experience
shall die unnoticed
their stories with them
Only a select few shall have
their stories live on
much longer than they
Share your story
Make it one worth telling

I like the message behind this one. I need to pass it on to a lot of people, I think! Thanks for entering!
