An Angel's View

Missing image
Like an angel carved from ivory wax,
shoulders slump over the pencil
stroking lines in wistful weave;
her hands etch flat stones
honed by flat footed monsters;
(they showed off their impossible strengths
so long ago, knowing her gift would
paint their memorial);
and surrounding the cornerstone
hang hummingbird cafés
jeweled to match her iris blues-
the tinted windows of her soul,
the ones that prompt the canvas.

Author notes

Another illustration by art-angel, our granddaughter-6 years old!
I watched her sketch this brilliant draft of
our rock garden.

    Delicate in draft ...

    the texturedness of rock is crafted by the tender hands of an angel ... How special a poem for such a special perspective: being a little co-worker in the Garden of the Art Lover.

    You two are so fortunate to have each other -- AND Him!

    Love
    Myra

    Rich with colors and imagery, and little kid sort of things. That's a truly delightful poem. Lots of affection shown.

    Intrigueing.

    Your words have captured this picture in a very unique way. I can see the flat stones and the hummingbir5ds cafe's in this. I can also picture the little angel setting there hunched over her canvas tring to capture all that she sees before her. She has done a remarkable job in depicting all that she sees as you have written a wonderful poen in tribute to her picture. I really liked this.
