An old photograph, lined with age, so old,
with stories between all the lines, many left untold.
I sat there staring and tears welled up inside,
of lives that lived so long before and never really died.
They were young when they first met, and from then on,
they always ended up together, no matter what went wrong.
They finally decided that they might just be meant to be,
and settled down for many years and started a family.
They never stopped loving each other, even on their dying day,
for God to take them both together in the end is what they prayed.
They loved more than anything, this I never will forget;
the story that started my life, how my parents met.
with stories between all the lines, many left untold.
They loved more than anything, this I never will forget;
the story that started my life, how my parents met.
Author notes
It's not necessarily true because my parents are still alive, but it kind of reminds me of my grandparents, who were together 63 years before my grandpa died last year, and a little of my parents who celebrated their 29th anniversary on June 28th.
