Sentient Desert

Mountains laid to waste
Childlike memories of summer
The glimmer of hope that is not hope or water
Seeing the blue
and the blue
and the blue,
and clouds taken on the wind.

The rocks interest me
and the sterilised bones of creatures long past
Reaching around you with my horizon
Seeing the emptiness
and the emptiness
and the emptiness,
and the wind blows through it.

full of grit
determined to seek with the currents
so cold in nights shadow
seeing the stars
and the stars
and the stars,
and always the wind.

    I read:

Sentient Desert - Mm' a feeling or perceptive one.

A harsh arid landscape, mountains destroyed.
Contrasted against the waters of life it would seem to be craving.
Ever overhead 'the blue' as the source from where such fulfilment could come from.

Rocks and bones like its 'toys'.
    So small in comparison.
    emptiness
    and the wind

with grit showing its shape in the currents,
    Cold night
    under stars and the wind.

A wonderful description and yes character of the desert expressed.
I felt unsure about the repeats at first but now, yes I think they work very well and are quite mesmerising.
I much like the way you leave us haunted with the lone spaciousness
under the stars with the wind.

I believe that you have captured the essence of this place very well.

    Thank you

    Sol
