Screaming in the Rain

Have you heard of
Singing in the Rain?

What about Screaming?

Screaming in the Rain.

Not that I have screamed
In the rain.
I doubt that I have ever
Truly screamed.

How can I have?
I've led a sheltered protected life.
And I hate it.

Not the life part.
I love my friends
My family.
But what I hate about
All this is...
is...
I don't know.

I feel like I'm meant
For something else.
Yes, I know that  many people
Have felt this before.
It fades over time....
Or so I'm told.

But I still have
That feeling.
Maybe it's courage?
Bravery?
Stupidity?

I know that I would leap
Into the depths of battle
Without a thought
If given a chance.

But then again
How can I know that?
For I am but a foolish child
Living a
Sheltered
Protected
Life.

Just standing there
Screaming in the Rain.

This is a great piece! I never actually thought of the twist "screaming in the rain" before, it's a nice twist on an old cliche. I like how the poem contemplates things all throughout the piece because that leads the reader on a trail of thoughts and then at the end they can go on with that trail of thoughts. You remind me of Chame in this piece. I'll tell you later about that. Anyway, I'd say my favorite part of this is the part about screaming in the rain simply because it's something original and is a great twist. As far as the title, it's good, because it reflects that and it interests the reader right away. The only suggestion I have would be to make a reference to that in the end, it would make the piece feel more finished and it would tie the whole piece to the title instead of it being in mostly the beginning. Anyway, this is a great piece and I really like it. Great job and keep writing!
