The Lord is my shepard because of you
I shall not want my old life
The life before I knew
God's mercy and forgiveness
Someone to carry me through
During life’s struggles and strife
I have salvation and eternal life
Always someone to turn to
This would not be true
If it weren't for you
you prayed the sinners prayer with me
When I was only seven years old
You are a very special person
With a heart of pure gold
You have touched so many lives
More than you will ever know
You were always giving your time
Planting God's holy seed
Hoping we would listen and follow God's lead
Teaching us God's word
Showing us the way to grow
It seems just like yesterday
Where did all the time go
I remember going to your office
Sitting in your chair
We sat and talked about the Lord
Making sure I was prepared
To let everyone know
Jesus was in my heart
Slowly repairing all of the damage
Giving me a brand new start
Because of your unselfishness in sharing God's word
This scripture in the bible will someday by many be more than just heard
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever
Thank you brother Dale for loving me and my family
Deep in our hearts you will forever stay
We will remember you and your family each and every day
As we walk with the Lord and take the time to pray
even though we can never repay you
For all that you've done
We can thank you for teaching us

I wrote this poem because the pastor that baptized my brother and I pasted away this past Saturday. I did not know that he had cancer. I was not able to get the poem to him before he passed away. I know that his family will appreciate it though. He and his family were a big part of our lives when I was growing up. He will be missed by everyone but, I know that he is in heaven now. I am so grateful that he shared the Lord with me. Thank you Dale Keith!!!!
