Allie and Melbourne

Allie and Melbourne, laying on the sheet
nose to nose, feet to feet.

She a dapple, He's just red,
All tired out, romping on the bed.

A month apart, Allie's older,
he's the baby, but much bolder.

Little gifts, left on the floor,
too late to get them out the door.

Bits of stuff strewn everywhere,
Hubby's about to tear his hair.

Just the price one has to pay;
for puppies will have their way!

Author notes

This is about our two mini Dachshunds which are known to be stubborn dogs hard to train. We love them dearly and hope to re-coop some money by breeding them.

This is a lot of fun to read. Anyone who has had a puppy can relate to this. "little gifts left on the floor, to late to get them out the door" what a cute way to describe that. I loved the humor in this.

We always had pets but they were never mine except when it came time to feed them or clean up a mess they made. I enjoyed the read. Best wishes in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

Such a cute picture, and a cute poem to go along. I love dogs to death. This poem, just made me love them more. =) To see the differences between two dogs, and write a lovely poem. Excellent. Keep on writing.

Cute poem you have penned here. It has been years since I had any puppies, my twin girls which are far more in comparision as to expenses' this year being their senior year! OUCH...Can't even think of the price of prom dresses and class rings yet!

Anything in life can be expensive!

Thank you for sharing this poem. ~Sie
