I Think It's Lost

So many years ago,
We were the best of friends.
We were totally inseparable,
And I miss that.

Our friendship was lost.
But only for a couple of years.
And when I saw you again,
I really liked you.

I annoyed you for a while,
But you finally gave in.
Your smile was little at first,
And it kept growing.

We waved and smiled everyday.
Valentine's Day was great.
And the talent show was wonderful.
You were amazing.

We finally decided we were in love.
And I was at the top of the world.
I wanted to be with you forever,
I figured it would last forever.

Did that happen?
No, it didn't.
A week after the first I love you,
You ended our relationship.

I hated you and wished it had never happened.
We had something,
Or so I thought.
I missed you so much.

Now it's been almost two years.
I still miss you
And I still love you.
I could never stop!

But sometimes when my hope falters,
My love almost fails,
And I sometimes think
That what we had never happened.

It did, and I'm glad.
But something I'm not so sure about
Because I'm the only one who's loving,
Is that I think the whole thing is lost.
