Dearest brother,
You are brave
More human than I
To venture into land uncommon
And self-sacrifice
I pray no harm e’er come
To you or any friend
And that you safely return
Home with us, in the end
This country, those like you
Have valiantly fought for
Since it’s birth and I am true
When I say I am grateful.
For without those uniformed
These words would matter none
As they would be censored and
Without emotion.
I’ve shed tears already
Thought I hope they are in vain
I wish that when the sand assaults
You smile anyway.
Remember, dearest brother
That I shall think of you
So shall our mother and father
And all else who love you.
