heads tilted towards heavens,
discovering sights of pleasure
from Minnesota to Ontario
gracing skies of blue,
linked eternal through life
seeking safe havens,
close to waters edge
gathered leaves and moss,
soft beds for hatch-lings
natures calling unique,
runs eternal through veins

I hope Carol doesn't mind but I feasted my eyes on her wonderful artwork. I fell in love with the loon while visiting Canada last year. Her pictures brought back wonderful memories.

Oh how beautifully you bring one of my loons to life. I kept this one for msyelf because I love the shape, the graceful neck, the bend of head to breast.... and yoru poems speaks to this. Thank you for such a nicely done piece and for using my loon picture.
