Only If

Solitude can be shared if
you march to the same drum.
Respecting each other
giving your souls room.
Space, time in union
swinging like a pendulum
you can't break free
less time stands still.
Like ripple in the pond
circling on it's own
we are joined in
sweet solitude; only if
we hear the same song.

I am loney by choice

rich with words

imagery, wisdom

I share only if I read

but in my world I hear

few that listen...

Alone I stand in bliss: only if

dancing to the beat of

the music inside my head...

engraved upon this heart....poetry!

I like your take on the prompt you chose. I agree that when alone, if we are comfortable with it, we can as you say here, dance to the beat of the music inside my head. The only thing I question in this poem is the beginning of the second stanza. You say lonely by choice, but loneliness is different from solitude. It is solitude that is chosen, and usually loneliness is not a choice that one wants to make. Maybe you can explain if you meant it differently. Thanks for entering. Blessings, Patty

  • Novy, I just loved this. It says so much. Some people do not see the beauty in complete solitude. I happen to love my solitude. I get into myself and become more of whom I am supposed to be, what I am here for.
    Good luck in the contest...
