and we were never ment to be.
My loving conscience you've denied,
so loving you is like suicide.
Taking up my every thought and tearing me apart,
and I begin to hang myself with strings of my black heart.
I used to live in solitude and you opened my eyes,
but now I sit here all alone, a victim of your lies.
Breaking me,
you're haunting me,
pulling tearing,
taunting me.
What are you?
a demoness,
have you posessed my soul?
For everytime I think of you,
I lose all control.
It's 6:00 I'm barely breathing,
drank away all of your deceiving.
Still a victim of believing,
you're the one for me.
All I have is tainted scars,
my heart and soul lay behind bars,
wishing on these shooting stars,
but I'll never be free.
Here we sit for one last night,
nothing's ever felt so right.
But now your touch it feels so hollow,
a bitter pill for me to swallow.
You look into my eyes,
you give me one last kiss.
And now for one last second,
my mind and soul's in bliss.
Now I see,
I am awake.
No more of this,
I can take.
I look no more to my inside,
my mind and soul they now have died.
The love you gave to me,
the things you've pulled me through,
I'm staring back at you,
and this you have denied.
Author notes
This poem was inspired by the song Denied by Swedish metal band Sonic Syndicate. There are so many other songs I can think of that I immediately think of when I read this poem, but the other one I referenced was Stabbing Westward's Sometimes It Hurts.
Well, those are just the songs that inspired this. I had no intentions when I started writing this, but as I did it became my montage of heartbreak. The times that come to me are post easter 06, post easter 07, parts of 05, later 07, and early parts of June in 08. I play no innocent victim for both of these situations, to a certain extent I got what I deserved.
Not always however. Let's take the 06 situation. My girlfriend Ashley pulled me through a very hard time. Do I blame her for leaving no, do I like how she handled it absolutely not. Let's put it to you this way! The depressing obstacles I had to overcome were exploited. Well, it happens.
Many trials and tribulations. We all go through love, and other disasters.

Inspired by songs eh? I hear a small tune in my head during each stanza... Could that be why?
This, in my opinion, is one of the best and most heartfelt/emotional poems I've read in a while.
The rhyme scheme is a little jumpy, but isn't love. It works very well.
This is something that we all can relate to, in some way. And, yes we all go through love, as well as the unfortunate disasters that accompany it.
"Breaking me,
you're haunting me,
pulling tearing,
taunting me."
I love this stanza. Is one of my favorites. A strong centerpiece. (And would make a good chorus for a song)
Good job with this. It is really amazing. Keep writing your feelings. You express them well!
Good, no, great job!

This is a really good poem. Very sad. The rhyme scheme of it was jumpy, as switched around alot. It flowed well though.
