A little painted Arabian mare,
so simply graceful standing there.
Like an angel from the heavens above,
she is my first true, a lasting love.
I cannot help but allow a smile,
watching as she struts her style.
Her tail held high, ears pricked toward me,
she seems to see inside of me.
Her eyes they tell me she understands,
with every day her love expands.
The flicker in her trot shows the perk in her heart,
her never ending spirit’s start.
And though for months we cannot ride,
in her entity my life confides.
She is the reason I breath today,
she is God’s delightful way.

This was gorgeous; the rhyming structure was just perfect, and I could feel your love for this little mare flowing out - from one animal lover to another, our pets are truly one of God's most fantastic gifts

This is a beautiful poem. The use of rhyme is spot on, and as i'm usually very picky with rhyme i'll say well done! I liked the fact the subject was different to anyone elses who entered too. Thanks or entering.
