Land of the Brave

Land of the brave
Please Father, to You I pray;
lift our hearts & minds today,
so we may learn Your only Way
We’ve turned from You,
Your favor gone
We look away,
turned from Your Son
We try Your commands to remove;
what on earth do we hope to prove?
Without Your guide & protection,
We’ve no hope, but to be in subjection
to the lusts of our minds
We’re living as if blind
Restore us please, protect our land;
save our troops with Your large hands
Our flag still flies, red, white & blue,
Father, we need honor You
Keep us safe, Land of the Brave
Dearest Father, to You I pray

    Thanks for your entry!!

    Truly beautiful, patriotic poem you have written as a prayer here! I like the Bible verses you shared that your poem is based on and this is an incredible poem! Wow! Nicely done. Keep up the great work

    Ya know, I liked this poem, NO I did not LOVE it, it was to yadda, yadda BUT I also felt it was confusing, all the talk of father, our God, and then the red, white and blue, to me that is not God our father but rather our Fore Fathers, the guys who gave us our constitution and gave us our rights to persue our lives. Gave us freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the right to assemble together...and pray. It was ok.
