Hostage

Missing image

I feel as though I知 trapped within my mind
a lonely voice that screams without a sound,
the images that flicker leave me blind
I stumble never knowing where I知 bound.

Bombarded by the shards of but one thought
a flight to freedom, could there be a way?
constricted by the cage in which I知 caught
the jailer has the key, I have no say.

To peel aside pretence and take a stand
and find a way to my own liberty,
I値l reach for help and grasp a caring hand
and face the world and show them I am free.

This lonely hostage was worth fighting for
with love and guidance I have found the door.

Sue-masterful rhyme and the poem really complements the image. So many levels in this, and I really feel like this is fact for you and not fantasy. I love your Dark Side.

You have done a great job with this prompt. The ABAB rhyme scheme was very well done. The promise of hope is well expressed.

Ahh…. You open your closet and you chose the cloak of the dark genre. You wear it quite well and I cannot think of a better form than a sonnet. When you “peel aside pretence” the curtain reviles the bars. Can you really find the door; can you find the exit to loneliness? You my dear sister and a master poet and queen of darkness. Bravo!

    Love,
    Amera♥
