An Antique Netsuke & Purse

Mammoth tooth carved cream,
Delicate girl on panther,
Fine features fashioned.

Most favored geish's likeness,
Toggle lock guards things valued.

Author notes

This poem describes a Japanese work of art so I thought it fitting to use Japanese form poetry. I really admire these tiny, exquisite, sculptures used as purse closures by the Samurai and other men of high station.

beautiful and cryptic in many more ways than life may describe. for me this a timeless walk on the beach a decade ago with someone I had just met... and would never past that night, ever see again. she. was a work of art. and in many ways. as you have described.

It is; they are. This one is not even 1&1/2 " long. If you look on line you can view some fine examples.
