Pretty papillon fluttering past
prancing upon fragrant petals
as they glisten
waiting gracefully
to greet the morning
veiled by soft vanilla skies
brushed with whisper of wing
kissing waiting buds
drizzled with dew
just bursting to blossom!
Such beauty to behold
a sigh in pastel promise
painting dance of colors
to sing in Sonnet
of every coming Season;
making me want to capture
a moment in time;
seal the flitter of a memory
within the feather
of a poet's pen
just to seize
the wonder of it all!

Author notes
"Prompt: Nature
You all know what I love.... you are treasures to me...but like a starving child, I always want more than just food."
"papillon" means butterfly in French

oh my goodness...."brushed with whisper of wing
kissing waiting buds
drizzled with dew" how gently beautiful this is.
"making me want to capture
a moment in time;
seal the flitter of a memory
within the feather
of a poet's pen"
Ah ...lovely, simply lvoely. It is said that, if you capture a butterfly gently, and cup it between your hands, whisper your dearest wishes, and then let it go, it will fly your message to creator. If then, the pen is captured so...we have sent out many wishes, have we not? -

I believe we have, my Dear....

TY for your lovely comment!

gracefully uplifting
You "capture the flitter of a memory with the feather of a poet's pen" and help us see a pearl glazed moment when two beauties of nature meet. Your focus on the flower's beauty at the fleeting touch of the butterfly reminds us to appreciate the beauty around us as it slips past in moments and days. Thanks for a refreshing write!

Enjoyed this a lot. Good luck in the contest. Pen on...

This is a beautiful picture you paint with your words! I sit out on my back porch each morning and watch the butterflies as they dance their mating dance...I didn't know that was what they were doing but it looked like it so I looked it up and sure enough "that's what they were doing" lol!!!
Anyway they are beautiful to watch and I enjoyed your poem! good luck with the contest!!!

"Such beauty to behold

This is such a serene & pretty penning, my Friend...you know how I love my flutterbyes.
Good luck in Carol's contest, Sweetie.

I love the beautiful anticipation in the first part of this. It is the true poet who can remove the veil of such a scene and see it, not as "just" flower and butterfly, but rather, in its fullness-- a scene of truth, and of beauty. The dance is not just upon petals and wings, but upon the poet's heart, allowing the pen to capture it in beautiful song, as you have done here.
That which as been anticipated and experienced now is captured forever for the world to share. Beautiful.

The gentleness and the joy combine to make a wonderful feeling drift through the whole poem. Reads like a benediction to joy of being and artist and being alive. Well done, sis.

She is such a goodness this goddess of green in wind-swept song...the special gardon where angels dream and write in softer pastel shades of wonder...lovely angel...

-
This is beautiful dear!!! The many colors meld so well with the imagery; scents, thoughts, and possibility soar within each line. I found this to be a lovely piece. You pain an image to be embraced, not simply read. Great write!!!
