Secret Angel with Lips of Gold

I'm flying higher than I've ever flown,
I'm almost to the sun.
But then I find I'm falling,
Just when I think I've won.

Tumbling down through this Hell,
There's no one here to catch me.
I scrape for solid ground,
But I've lost all sense of reality.

And that's when it happens,
When those arms clasp so tightly around my waist.
And as an angel with a beautiful face pulls me close,
These cold lonely feelings are quickly erased.

I'm not sure who exactly caught me,
But she put me back on solid ground.
She's my secret angel looking out for me,
And I'm hoping she'll always be around.

She's got a beautiful soul,
As she wipes away each and every tear,
With lips so soft and pure
As she silently mutters sweet nothings in my ear.

And I'm not sure what her name is,
But I know she's the only one who cares.
She hides in my shadow as she watches over me-
Still, I always know she's there.

The first one to always back me up,
There's a place in my heart she'll always hold.
No, I may not always see her,
But she's still my secret angel with lips of gold.

Author notes

Uhh...actually inspired by a good friend of mine. I was talking about how I wanted to fly, and she said if I flew to close to the sun my wings would melt and I'd fall. And it somehow led to her flying once, and how someone caught her and put her back on solid ground. But she said she didn't know who it was that caught her...It was a rather entertaining story, and made me smile. So now that she's in bed because she kindda has to get up early, she's left me to my thoughts...and, well, I was thinking about it.

And thus, the product was this: MY POEM! So...I guess I have to say she inspired it for me, and I suppose I should maybe put her in as a collaborator since she did give me the idea...Ok. Done. Right, so, kudos to her!

I have such good friends, don't I?
