Defenders of Freedom :
fly away home.
Your empire is crumbling,
without the ideals it disowned.
Author notes
The photo prompt made me think of the chant, "Ladybug, Ladybug, fly away home. Your house is on fire, your children alone."

Thank You!!
Thank You for Your entry: Empire
This piece tugged hard at Spirit and while I was reading which I did several times~ I kept being shown a gingerbread house and for some reason mention of artificial sweeteners compared to pure cane sugar-
I'm being shown fighter jet planes and also the five planes Flight 19 that disappeared over The Bermuda Triangle
For some reason I am being shown a concrete slab which appears like one on a sidewalk- and seeing handprints pressed into the wet cement whether metaphor or symbolism
Hopefully that makes some sense

You've said so much in 15 words. This one really makes you think. Reality hits hard on this piece.
Happy 4th!

I understand. Sad but true way to think of it though if you look at society right now.
Best of Luck to you,
