Note: I am NOT anti-America with this entry. I just recall after 9/11 our neighbors here in America were torching mosques, assaulting middle-eastern residents...Ignorance is not a virtue!

    Thank You!!

Thank You for Your entry: blind patriotism
This piece tugged hard at Spirit and while I was reading which I did several times~ I kept being shown word: Excellent and in reference to stepping outside the boxy with Your view- along with explanation in the AC- I am shown after reading Your words what happened after Pearl Harbor with the Japanese living within the US~ how they were treated like animals-criminals
I'm also being shown the torturing of male and female detainees in the correctional facilities- ex: Abu Ghraib. I'm being shown unspeakable horror and the how twisted the human mind could go along with desires to unleash- emotions onto flesh of another human I'm being shown word: Control also Authority- where those who felt a need to abuse- for a moment had that feeling of being in control~ especially when their Life is out of controlAlso after reading, I'm being shown word: excuses...so many of the abusers made excuses as to why and point fingers at the *whistleblowers* for speaking up, for trying to salvage pieces of Dignity left~ One may scratch head and figure how upsetting-it can be to imagine the treatment of our soldiers-civilians (in other countries) yet there are many behind a veil who inflict just as much harm onto others using the flag- word: freedom as a balm for revenge~
    Hopefully that makes some sense
    Magnificent take on the prompt~
Powerful message and images You have brought forth

    These words grabbed and pulled~
    blind patriotism...
    Unique Voice spoken~

Thank You for sharing Your Heart also Spirit!
Best wishes to You in the contest Sweet Soul
    **Judging will be done shortly...
    Many blessings too
    and much love & light~ Desire~*~

    So true

You are so right, fellow poet. Unfortunately, some people take patriotism too far. Brilliant words here.
