Unlock My Heart

I look at him
And my heart flutters
Such a perfect creature
With each day comes more anticipation
At any moment he could disappear
Vanish from my world
Taking part of me with him

I feel like at any moment
He will sprout wings
For he is my guardian angel
Once near him
I have this impenetrable aura
Shining so brightly
Nothing would dare make contact
In attempt to taint it

He creates a shield
So strongly wielded
By a knight wearing no armor
For he does not need it
Eyes so piercingly blue
That shoot straight through mine
Leaving a stain on my heart
A stain that will by no means be easy to remove

He is a statue
Arms braced around me
So tightly
Protecting me from any danger
Arms that rebound sparks
Flying from a hungry fire
Not allowing  me to be burned
Or tarnished

Who is this creature which I have found ?
Within his walls I remain
Within the prison of his heart
The iron bars of an ancient gate
Locked tightly by large silver key
He the only man who possesses the power
To unlock my heart

    This reminds me of the song, "Un-break My Heart". WOW! This sounds like a wonderful resume' for a guardian angel or knight in shining armor. You build the presence of devotion very well, poetically speaking.
