Second glances

Black and white photos

Revealing something unseen in reality,
Senses heightened, intricity in simplicity.
Eerie suggestions, layers of different pictures.

Mundane objects, transformed by darkness.
The darkness strokes a frozen finger up the spine.

A glimmer of light towards the centre.
Just a fragment of hope in the shadowy view.

Depicting crumbling architecture,

A sign of mans weakness,
these artifical giants decaying.

Killed by time's cruel blow,
Her lips blowing the elements,
Sharp fingernails dismantling.

What stood a hundred years can fall in but one day,
So transitory beneath the permenant surface.
Working fingers to the bone, sweating blood and tears
just to have a palace that will fade as if a reflection.

Cloaked with a layer of mist...

Inpetrenable, yet suprisingly fragile.
obscuring details, beckoning fear.
Hiding secrets that daren't be discovered.

Translucent towards the edges, yet in the middle it is solid.
Dragging on the ankles of any brave passersby,
Devouring the ground, disguising what goes on below.

Pure white, undisturbed.

As black clouds sink heavy above.

Closing in the scene,
claustraphobic to the eyes.
Forbidding and hungry, waiting to descend.

Gathered round the focal point, paying tribute to what lurks.
Wanting to lash out, with swords that burn the soul.

Watching as the years unfold,
on edge and ready to implode.
