stand guard over the sea of time
watching the last hour
slip below the horizon.

Yes, Guardians!
This has a hard and soft feel to it both complementing each other very starkly it also speaks to me of mans' attempts at explaining his instinctive love of beauty and the desire to protect it; it's why we build cathederals I guess, a perceptive poem

Intensely beautiful.
Those two words could sum this entire poem up perfectly.
The images it brought to mind made my eyes sparkle and dance. Relics of ancient civilizations watching sun sets over darkened waters... I see Alexandria, Easter Island, India.... thanks for the quick trip.

this is one of my favorites by you...such lovely & creative imagery, Garrison, congrats on the gold

I like this, a ancient knight guarding the sea of time as the last hour slips below.
Congratulations on the gold.

This is a beautiful sunset moment you've captured here, Garrison. Wonderful use of language and imagery. Loved this one and the way the eternal and the fleeting stand side by side. No wonder there's a gold trophy attached to it!!
Great work, poet.

Wondrous Gold!
Congratulations Garrison! I loved the "role switch" in this piece ... The mortal standing guard over the immortal, and that very textured last hour in the exit line ...
Wondrous work.
Blessed be.

I saw that picture and went completely BLANK!
But you seemed to have captured so much above and beyond all thought here - if only in a glance. Truly amazing, well deserved on the gold!!!
