Turned Lines

It came in wincing waves
quietly curtailing expectations
unseen within forward motion;

extended, yet blended abundantly
to what reluctance could carry
should a line be crossed
and chances taken.

          Slim the smile that love offers
          when unpolished with the gift of heart.

My shoes needed no wear
to become aware of plentiful -

and in it all

truths have been taught
as my lines have turned;
pathways caught and changed for planting.

    This is interesting and, though I can't fully grasp it, I think more than one meaning can be found in it. My favorite part is,

    "My shoes needed no wear
    to become aware of plentiful - " -

    a very clever play on words. The separated line seems to be strong, too. Thanks for your entry

    Absolutely beautiful work, Pam, as always. This has an almost calming effect to me, and seems like something that would be spoken softly. Wonderful piece.
