He sat on a lonely mountain,
the sky in fiery blaze,
wings wrapped around him,
to ward away the chill.
He reasoned with himself,
the bane of his existence,
a desolate life deserved
in the name of honor,
the only thing he has left.
His heart a blue crystal,
shattered over the years,
no longer does it feel
the warmth of love...
the beating of life
it's myriad shards
cutting him,
the pain...
the pain at times unspeakable.
A breath from the bellows,
the fire leaps
to dance across the sky,
ice blue tears fall like rain
his cry penetrating,
none can withstand.
The roar of the Dragon,
his call reaches far
and from within the flames
the Phoenix rises,
she answers leaping up
dancing amid the fire.
Seductively she sings,
rising,
rising
through the storm of fire
she rises before him.
She is the light
He had buried deep
within his night
knowing she would come
a breath from the bellows
a cry to the Gods
and his Phoenix appears
in flawless flight.
She is the warmth,
the love and the light.
She rises ever higher,
calling to Him,
reaching out,
melting the tears,
melding his heart
into a beautiful mosaic,
and they rise...
the veil of darkness pierced,
the Dragon and the Phoenix
shadow and light
one cannot exist without the other...
balance in all things,
and they rise.

Beautiful, wonderful and very poetically polished. This sounds like the dragon of your dream in your blog. Were you very close spiritually? I love the visuals of the blue heart in mosaic. (you would know that, though).
You are the Phoenix, bursting forth from the ashes and fire, as bright as the sun with the healing rays of the light.
Write on my sister of light. Live to write, Write to Live and Write On!

Wow, this is almost fable-esque, like if there were "pop songs" in the middle ages and fuedal Japan, this is one all the corner minstrels and court musicians would be playing.

This was written for a special 'dragon' friend of mine, who meant quite a bit to me...I am glad you liked, and it is fable-esque isn't it. You pay me a great compliment, and I thank you...
