My heart would skip a beat
at that soft look deep in your eyes
and on my face these feelings
I never could disguise.
Emotions fluttering like a child
dancing blissfully on a breeze,
the world became my oyster
as love grew by degrees.
The child within me basked
beneath the glow of love you gave,
I felt life was just beginning
and with you the world we'd save.
But eventually inexperience
gave way to open eyes,
as I watched as yours were roving
I knew then it was all lies.
Left with grief of love gone wrong
never understanding why,
a parting with indifference
as the tears fall from my eyes.

The immages are truely as sentimental truths..I love the sketches of life in this verse..well done....my friend...

I was drawn in to the sweet love unfolding and then hurt by it ending

Beautifully penned, I love the soft rhyme throughout.
Best of luck
