Though time conspired with distance
to steal our moment in the sun
No mortal man can change the fact
our hearts still beat as one
Though rivers would flow backwards
if gravity gave in
And planets turned the other way

Though brilliant stars would run away
and hang their heads in shame
I’d paint the sky blue velvet
and night would never be the same
