Stars

Did you ever think you would dance with the stars-
that you would ever shine so bright?
Did you know that loved ones
would call out your name
in the middle of the night?
Did you know the pain I would feel-
sometimes it seems too much to bear-
expecially when I look around
and you are no longer there.
Can you hear my cries of sorrow-
when I scream inside my head-
While I lay in a crumpled heap
upon my weary bed.
Do you see my heart bleeding-
do you see my soul cut deep?
This wretched life I'm living
while you are laying so very deep.
The sun will never shine as bright
nor the moon will be so blue
as it was-seems a few days ago-
when I was here with you.
So when the stars come out at night,
I will stand and look for you-
and as you shine up in the sky
please look down here for me too.
