frogs croak in the twilight,
the stars are painted on a celestial canvas,
clouds solemnly pass by blocking the view momentarily,
the moon's rays dance across the surface of the lake,
calm yet rippling and lapping at the shore's edge,
the howl of the lone wolf carries on the wings of the crisp air,
Peaceful notions flow threw the soul,
a pen-ship for the dramatic, the soul dives deeply into the abyss,
only this one is vibrant and colorful, not dank and dark,
we dance naked in the fields under the blood red harvest moon,
it hangs low to guide our path while we revel in delight,
laughing like mad children of the night.

Awesome poem jeffstofsky, you created such beautiful imagery here, well done on that part. So magically penned as well - a fabulous choice of vocabulary too - 'abyss', 'vibrant', and so many more, and great personification when you used the word 'dance' to describe the action of the moon's rays (that is the right word - personification?
)
Anyways, great write once again, and best of luck in the contest
best wishes as always

I really love this. It reminds me so much of the Doors and the title reminds me of Moonlight Drive. Wonderful write and thanks for entering.
