Coffee with Liza

Thoughts wove

baskets not linear

to hold the company

of meaning,

spoken and felt

we filled them,

as we helixed.

Funny;

the biggest mystery

drank its own coffee,

tasting itself alive

in a smile,

merely evidenced

by travellers

both guests and hosts,

moved into its life

on given dazzling steed.

Words which remain

true faces,

while our mirrored

garden table

adopted its role as

a blinding landing pad!

Not passing time

but non-return journey;

un-hearing, more

one's real name,

is impossible once heard.

Author notes

Dedicated in thanks to a most special and inspirational friend of mine, I met here, ArtFullyMe.

One day I hope the 'coffee in the garden' might happen.

    I hope it happens, too...

we all have that one special
person we would love to spend time
    with...if only. This poems feels
full of life. I like it.

She is lovely and beautiful. I think if we all keep dedicating poems to her, we should start referring to her as goddess, literally... She does so many sweet things for people on here. And she's so damn kind to me and Kenny...Has always been. I absolutely loved this entire poem. I'm not really up for critical critiques at the moment. Been slacking on those quite a bit, but even if I was, I don't think there is much here that I would find wrong. The one thing I will mention is I think the beginning is a little rough...It just seems a little edgy for a beginning. It's probably the wording in the first two lines and the last one that makes me feel this way. All in all this is excellent writing Sol. You are such an emerald.

And liza, well she's amazing and there is no jewel I can think of that does her justice.

    awww....truly lovely!

i've always wondered too...if i were to throw a garden
party....and each poet did appear...wouldn't it be lovely
and awesome to finally see their souls in the flesh
    standing before us.

WE hear hearts and thoughts without the presence of
    physical image.
    Truly freeing indeed.
    Lovely writing Sol!
    take good care

    thank you so very much...

    I love this...
those first lines, the non-linear baskets, wonderful, wonderful.... !
and the mysterious drinking coffee. the way you've woven the words, the images, it is like being in a magical garden..

and then that last stanza.. beautiful thoughts....freedom.. and so much more..

I am so very honored.... not to mention slightly tongue-tied

but I will return.. when I am less overwhelmed ..

    .....

    thank you....
