Never once have I woken up from your arms
The fog surrounds my pupils closed
The demons continue to tap my shoulder
I sit up quickly
My heart beats rapidly but not for love
but for fear.
My mind runs laps
Maybe fifty times
Rings around each finger
Bells from the cathedrals march into my ears.
Lightening lights the skies like fireworks
but without numerous shades of blue, orange, red, blue, green or white.
The blinds are useless
And the dogs don't really care
they howl anyway.
no REM sleep again which makes no difference
Hopefully tomorrow will let me see a smile.
Yours or Mine.
