Dearest Paper, October 2, 1848
I find myself needing you again; twice in one day, I know. Oh, but this time he is gorgeous; really breathtakingly handsome. His name is Johnathan Williams, and his eyes are like daggers
piercing one's soul. He is something different than I've ever witnessed; & tomorrow he is taking me to lunch.
This could be exciting. I do believe he is romantic. We could end up making love anywhere. So many possibilities to feel woman. The woman I want myself to be; not mother.
She doesn't know as usual. I'll just tell her I'm headed to town. I'll be back to let you know if it was worth it.
Love, Francine
