At the bar

One in the morning
I'm at the bar with a scotch
Soulless thinking on you

I draw figures with the wet glass
Staring at the barman through eyes
Yours only

Where are you now
With whom, thinking on what
Besides me

In my alcoholic mouth lingers
The reminiscence of our kisses
By sunset

I've heard you're coming back
Since you're long gone
But married

Buy at least my train ticket
So I travel beyond reality to where
She is not.

This was a beautiful write. This piece seemed to have a sadness to it, but near the end seemed to have a feeling of hope. Like, maybe if people get away from their problems even if just for a short while, it can help them feel better about life. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.
