Rise up and shine and open that door
A brand new day's awaiting
The temperature's fine, who could ask for more?
Don't waste a minute debating
Whistle a tune
Hum a verse
All your troubles will soon
Flee and disperse
Cast out your line from the golden shore
And all you're anticipating
Shall be the sign you've been longing for
Now that's invigorating!
Get out of that bed and back on your feet
You've got more livin' to do
Start smilin' instead of lookin' downbeat
Breathe in the beautiful view
Of lilies and roses
Fully in bloom
As the owl softly dozes
In his treetop room
You've been misled, your life's not complete
Not even halfway through
No time for dread, there's a mornin' to greet
Drink in its marvelous hue
From the lofty pine to the hardwood floor
There's a rhythm eminating
No more toein' the line or ragin' the war
There's no more time for hating
Love is the key
So strike up the band
Both you and me
Will make a stand
Drink the wine right from the core
That God Himself's creating
It's yours and mine, so let it pour
And start the celebrating!
The nightime has fled and dancin' down your street
Is a sunbeam,pure and true
Lift up your head, there's a bird singin' sweet
And his song's especially for you
Yes,the sun's shinin' bright
And there's children at play
Not one cloud in sight
For at least one more day
There are souls to be fed and friends yet to meet
Underneath this sky quilt of blue
And I know it's been said but I'll gladly repeat:
"You're the best friend I ever knew."
