Harvest Time

At least we had a moment
to share upon this earth.
Fleeting though it was
to love it gave rebirth.

Long thought dead and buried
the seeds of passion lay.
No longer are they dormant
‘cause you came by that day.

Watered by your tears of care
the seeds did bear their fruit.
Nurtured by your tenderness
and love so absolute.

With winter fast approaching
leaves shiver on the vine.
The ripened fruit is ready
today is harvest time.

    Rhyme Time

Great rhyme and good meter. you are a talent to be sure. So why not enter some of these in some contests, like those anything goes ones.
It's great. Although I've noticed a trend to trophies for more free verse than rhyme. How about you?

Some moments are meant to last us a lifetime, some only fleetingly and linger not. And some lie dormant, to be revived by even a tiny suggestion of days long gone. Fortunate we are to have these memories, these moments within our reach.

Though this started out on a rather sad note, the progression and ending seem to bring a happy ending

    A beautiful poem, Leo

    I have to concur ...

with MariGoes as she has said what I would say. "A moment of love is never lost, even if ended too soon. What stays in our mind and heart is all we need to make it blossom again."
Your poem is written in good form and reminds me of a love that will substain itself year after year! joy

Thank goodness for the harvest. You have to be careful where you plant those seeds......you might not like the ripened fruit.

Interesting analogy, I liked it alot.
