A hoarding dragon sits all decked in gems,
crouched atop a mountain of pure wealth.
Throne of gold precariously perched,
above countless treasures...
I want more...
Never enough.
A hollow woman desperate and alone,
hides beneath that silent mask of hate.
collecting toys and trinkets her attempt
to fill that hole inside and feel true love.
still not enough.
Never enough.
A diamond studded circlet traps her hair ,
a yellow gown contrasts the sun-bronze scales.
Slit-eyed gaze reviews a sparkling cache,
laid out before her...
I need more...
Never enough.
Lustful claws caress her slender form,
this selfish passion all she's ever known.
Calling out for help where none can hear,
a lonely wish for comfort, trust and warmth...
never enough.
Never enough.
And rarely will she step out of her cave,
but to retrieve some new and shiny coin.
Empty, soulless eyes of ebony,
stare into deepest shadows, piercing sharp.
A hollow female form glides through the night,
trying to fill the void that silent cries...
That it will NEVER be enough.

I have to say, you truly describe her with such power... she sounds like a snake. amazing -
excellent expression
Your words are very telling of this woman's search to fill the emptiness that dwells withing her. I like the repeatitiveness of "Never enough". It is very effective in your poem.
Thank you for your entry, and best of luck in the contest!
