Running through emptiness
void of any life signs
there; I stood observing
myself panting in crepitus.
Painful breathing bursting
cell after cell in my lungs
as the reaper watched
with extreme pleasure.
Still looking; I saw headstones
my name engraved before
my very eyes; the lamia laughed
long, loud...she wanted my soul
I heard confabulating words
ranting inside my heart
sending legs in flight
protecting my spirit.
Blackness of wicked
demons from the underworld
seeking as many weak ones;
they could gather...You must
flee or be devoured
by dark dreams... for there's
no loving embrace when
dwelling in pitch.
Author notes
prompt: Dark love, dark dreams.
A dark dream of running from a lamia...
meaning:
lamia...female enchantress or demon

Had to check your dark!
I knew I would find it interesting. I have done Lamia and the vampire genre. Very much first person with their fear very evident, I like your style. Hope to see more of your 'dark' in the future. Hope you enjoy the HM, ennvoy.

Stunning work Novy. So dark and deep. The imagery really stood out in thing magnificent piece of writing here. The darkness is overwhelming too.
'Still looking; I saw headstones

I heard confabulating words

The above part I loved most of all. Wonderful. Good luck in the contest Novy.
